Houdini Just Too Great

Well congratulations to the whole team, we had a few reservations heading into the race with eating, but he was just too good for them today!

Chris Parnham rode him perfectly and looked to be in a little bit of trouble when they sprinted before the bend, but when he flattened out late he picked them up fairly easily in the last furlong.

Chris said he was easy on him over the last 50 yards as he had the race won and he should be able to go on with the job now.

Leon was thrilled as we were hoping we crossed our ‘T’s and dotted our ‘I’s to make sure he was 100% today and to see him race so genuine was very satisfying.

Comic Miss Wins Maiden at Geelong

Congratulations team, and that was very stratifying to see her stretch out late…

Our girl broke her maiden status today from an awkward draw. She proved too good which is a relief after 5 starts. She still has a long way to go but at least we are on the right path and riding her back seems to be gelling with her.

Ben gave her the gun ride from the awkward gate and didn’t panic, riding her like the best horse in the race.

She’s not the easiest horse to train and big thanks has to go to Leon and his staff as she is highly strung, but getting better all the time. Well done and enjoy the win!

Mr. Individual Wins on Debut

CONGRATULATIONS

Well days like today are very satisfying on many fronts ,but it was more relief today for both Leon and myself .When these good horses come along there is quite big expectations ,when they trial and work like good horses sometimes they don’t bring that race day, well we were excited to see that effort today by Mr Individual.

Ollie didn’t panic when he got back further that we planned ,but his turn of foot from the 600 to the 400 put the race beyond doubt which was fantastic to see. Ollie said the win was better than it looked as he hit the lead to far from home, thus was his good turn of foot and he sort of got lost in front ,but when he saw the 2nd horse he surged again to hold him at bay.

Leon was so nervous as he had labelled  this colt from day 1 and to see all the extra effort/time put in by all the staff ,these days are very rewarding .Leon said he will head to the paddock for 2-3 weeks freshen up now in preparation for a Caulfield Guineas prep in the spring. It would be a dream come true if we could even get him there and fingers crossed everything goes to plan from her to the big race…

King’s Command wins a 1100m at Bendigo

Montezuma wins at Pakenham

Well congratulations and big thank you to Leon & Troy as good trainers listen to their horses. He was going to the paddock 2 starts ago, but some well thought out planning resulted in Monty saluting the judge today.

He still does so much wrong and to win today after coming down the straight like a drunken sailor just showed we might have a handy future ahead of him once he has time to mature some more.

Leon was rapt for everyone as he is no super star, but is a great horse for owners as he tries his guts out 110% of the time and when he puts it all together he might be a nice handy stayer for years to come!

Paddy said he was very confident in the run, but didn’t anticipate the horses hanging in, during the last 300 meters and that had he gone straight he wins easily.
