Ring King Wins at Geelong

Congratulations and finally we get a win after several near misses !!

Well that was pretty painful today as we saw a glimpse of what the boy can go and do; emphasise boy, as he still needs to learns more mentally. Michael Rodd said he let him stride up into a good position today and he proved too good as he should of done, but he still needs further education to clean up his traits of over racing and laying in when he sprints down the straight.

Check out his replay below:

Leon was much happier today and we saw a glimpse of what he can do ,but once he learns to settle and stretch out to 1400 meter that’s where I see him really improving to a better class. This prep will be all about teaching him and if that means we travel around provincial tracks learning our trade well so be , because as if he can put it all together I think he can be a force in town over 1400-1600 later on .

LEIA WINS AT BENDIGO

Well wasn’t the a sight for sore eyes after having the virus hiccup in the spring .As we have mentioned preciously you  never quite sure if it flattens them for a while ,but by the look of today’s win she is back big time !!

Hat goes off to Leon as he switched plans from running her next week as the filly told him with Monday mornings gallop she is right on track and she was so good with a soft win in the end .

Michael said she has better win’s in store this time around and we may even back her up Friday week at the Valley ,but only if she does super well during the week ,if not she will run in a suitable race over the next 2-3 weeks.

Siegestor wins Maiden at Bendigo

Well what a fairy-tale start to our boy’s career with a win first up for Seigestor! Steven King gave him a lovely run 3 wide with cover and came with a well-timed run to take it out in impressive style. We don’t know what was behind him as not much form was exposed, but we will get a great guide to his future at his next few as he steps out of maiden company.

We had a great bunch of owners turn up yesterday and I trust it was a very enjoyable day for all involved!

Steven King reported it was a pretty smart win as he is still learning, he wanted to have a bit of a gawk down the straight and when he hit the front he didn’t know what to do as he had nothing to chase, overall a good effort for a horse on debut.

Leon was thrilled with the win as the horse has lots of improvement and should get better as the distances get longer. Leon actually nearly scratched the horse yesterday as he left a bit of feed the night before and was worried he wasn’t coping with the heat, therefore we might give him a quiet few days to see how he is before planning his next assignment.

Spicer Thoroughbreds Team fundraising in 4Tracks4Kids Walk

4tracks4kids

4Tracks4Kids is dedicated in helping the kids of Australia through raising funds to help develop medicines and cures for kid’s diseases, training medical personal and purchasing important medical equipment.

4Tracks4Kids is closely aligned with the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network incorporating both Westmead and the Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick as well as helping other charities that have included Bravehearts, Doxa Youth Foundation, Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation, Melanoma Foundation and the Breast Cancer Foundation by raising funds through its yearly events.

4Tracks4Kids was founded by racing identity Richard Callander through his television commitments on TVN Channel 522. The charitable foundation was born out of a misguided statement by Callander when he declared New Zealand couldn’t draw or beat Italy in the World Cup of football in 2010. If they were to win or draw Callander would walk between the four Sydney racetracks raising funds for charity. It was a one all draw and hence 4Tracks4Kids was born.

Callander quickly sort the advice and help of his mate and long-time charity worker Peter Wilson to help develop the 4Tracks4Kids brand and with Peter’s devotion and connections it was up and running and raising much needed funds in quick time.

To date 4Tracks4Kids has raised close to $1.5 million dollars aiding the kids of Australia.

This year Spicer Thoroughbreds are walking for charity.
