Amovatio Wins the Hawkesbury Cup

Congratulations to the whole team on Saturday’s Cup win!

Wow, how blessed are we to be racing such a gutsy horse like Amo, he had everything stacked against him yesterday and still came out on top. Chris Waller needs so much credit on how he has placed Amo throughout his career and to take his earning’s to $816k as a 5 year old is a superb effort, especially when he has a few years left of racing ahead of him. He now becomes very hard to place with his rating so high, but Chris will get him on the right path I am sure !

Trainer’s View:

Amovatio has come through his winning run with no problems and he certainly was a deserved winner. I have been going through his race record over the weekend and he has had a lot of near misses but he has certainly done a great job in the race that he has won as well.

It is certainly not over yet, we want to win a few more races and his prize money is up around the $800,000 mark. If we could get it up to the million, well what a fantastic job he has done for all of us.

The Group III Hawkesbury Gold Cup on Saturday was won by classy performer Amovatio, an $85,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Edinburgh Park, who will offer a top quality selection of mares at the Inglis Broodmare Sale starting on Monday.

Ian Smith’s Edinburgh Park have had much success with their breeding program over the years that started with world champion sprinter Silent Witness and has continued through a host of stakes-winners right up to Amovatio.
