First Chorus Hits the Right Note in Rainy Pakenham Romp
Talented mare First Chorus returned to the races on a rain soaked night at Pakenham but relished the conditions to win easily in what was essentially a track gallop for $20k+ in prize money.
After two impressive jump outs leading in to her return, the daughter of Ghibellines wasn’t missed by punters opening well in the red but remarkabley she drifted in the betting to start almost flip of the coin odds.
Jockey Emily Pozman gave her a nice run in the field of five, settling behind the leader. With plenty of the track available to her in the straight she stayed closer to the inside and began to pursue the leader. Emily shook up the reins and she levelled up and then after good one around the backside at the 200m, the 4yo asserted her superiority to race clear to score easily.
She is a lovely mare who is building up an imposing resumé with 4 wins and 3 placings from just the 8 starts. She will head to Adelaide where Lindsey has some nice Black Type assignments for her to tackle later in the prep
It was a timely purchase for Bell View Park Stud who secured part of her prior to her return to the races. They got an instant return and will no doubt build on that in terms of coming months!
Congratulations too to the team …, Mr S S Roth, Mr D R Wockner, Grass Roots Racing, A A F T’Angles, Mr B Man, Mr S Crisci, Mr C Sacchetta, Mr M R Cawley, Mr C D Taylor, Mr C P Byrne, Mr G A Kernahan, Mr D Davies, Mr M Stevens, Bellview Park Stud and Mr N Johnstone
