Amovatio Wins at Rosehill

Well done guys, congratulations and how about the win by Amo!  Just goes to show what he can do with pace on.  Trainer Chris Waller was worried about the distance, but when they went too hard up front that played into our hands, which is very easy to watch, as he had the race won with 300 to go!

I am so happy as this horse deserved a win like today after suffering from minimal luck during his career and his record should read so much better, but now that he has won again I am sure he can go on with it, especially as he gets out in distance.

Horse of the Month

Our Horse of the Month for October, is the Denman x Jacilo Colt.

He is by an emerging star in the stallion ranks in Denman out  of a mare Jacilo who has  had 3 foals to the races, for 2 group winners  which is a fantastic strike rate.  Denman was regarded in his 3 year-old year as star, and proved that by winning the Group 1 Golden Rose, and prompting his trainer Peter Snowden to say “he is the best horse I have  every trained “.  Denman won 9 of his 12 lifetime starts.
Our colt is a half Brother to Villifye, a group 2 winner, and Miss Keepsake, who took out the Group 1 QLD Oaks in fine style. The colt also hails from one of the best families in the stud book, being closely related to group 1 winners in Grosvener, Mahaya, Shadea, Niello and Lonhro, just to name a few. He has the pedigree and the looks to make it as a serious horse.
The colt  will be trained by Leon Corstens with 10% Shares @ $18,000 (plus GST) with 5% shares are available on request.

The new star of the Spicer Thoroughbreds stable has even garnered some media attention:

Waller to keep impressive 2YO in Sydney during winter

Nic Ashman – Wednesday, 15 May 2013

Just a race after Gai Waterhouse produced a promising juvenile, Sydney’s leading trainer Chris Waller unearthed another two-year-old that looks destined for bigger things at Canterbury on Wednesday.

Amovatio debuted for Waller in the TAB iPhone App Maiden Plate (1200m), box-seating from its inside gate.

Hugh Bowman began to switch across heels coming around the home turn, when the son of Al Maher appeared momentarily to lose concentration before the premier rider navigated a clear passage and punched the gelding to victory.

“He’s pretty raw. I must admit throughout the run he was getting it together as we went so he’ll improve both mentally and physically,” Bowman said.

Debutante Cosmic Endeavour won by 3-1/4 lengths for Waterhouse when leading all the way with the trainer indicating there was a chance the filly could head to Queensland, however Waller will says he will keep Amovatio in Sydney during the winter months with a view to the spring.

“He’s still got a lot of improvement to come. We haven’t wound him out to get here today that’s for sure,” Waller said.

“It would be nice to get a Saturday win. They come in handy when you’re looking towards the better races.”

Amovatio ($2.80 fav) defeated the Bjorn Baker-trained Brilliant Terror ($9), who finished hard to be beaten 1-1/2 lengths after being held up at a vital stage in the run home, with Adage ($6) from the Peter Snowden camp finishing a neck back in third.

The race presents as a strong form race as Brilliant Terror defeated the John O’Shea-trained Savvy Nature in his only trial with Savvy Nature debuting last weekend at Kembla and thrashing her rivals.

“My bloke is looking for another 1000 metres on that so we’re pretty happy,” Baker said.

Welcome to the New Website

inside-wordWelcome to your new private Owner Pages.

We have been working hard to set up a system whereby we can deliver private news, photos, images & audio reports to each owner group, in a private room, so that you have the inside word on the progress of your horses.

Some information, News and images will be made public, so we can all share in our successes, but horse progress and trials will be kept private for each owner group.

We look forward to providing you all with an industry-leading owner experience, that takes you closer to the action, and into the ‘inner-circle’.

We welcome owners input, and would love to receive any photos or videos that you take at the races or the stables. We will also be loooking at the potential of a Member’s Forum in the future, where we can build a private online community forum for you to share your experiences.
