Spice Time – September 5

It’s Spice Time! Thursday Sep 5

THE SPICER THOROUGHBREDS WRAP

As usual there is plenty going on at Spicer Thoroughbreds and plenty of runners this weekend!

THE WINNERS
Congratulations to the connections of recent winners ULURU, DABIYR and HOLLABACK GIRL – we think all three horses have a really bright future.

Dabiyr opened right up on a staying field at Moonee Valley and cleared out by a wide margin which was great to see. He will head to Sydney next for his next start. Hollaback Girl won second-up in good style at Ipswich before a luckless run at Doomben but will bounce back soon. And Uluru got his maiden out of the way at Pakenham and will return from a break for the summer races where we think he will graduate to city class.

Congratulations to all the winning connections!

It was also great to see KINGS WILL DREAM make a great return in the G1 Winx Stakes in Sydney and he heads to Flemington next and the G1 Makybe Diva Stakes.

Hopefully there are lots more winners in store as we roll out some of our real young guns this weekend at The Valley.

THE KING ARRIVES!
We are extremely excited (Shark especially) to announce that Group class Irish stayer THE KING has joined our team and will arrive in the first Spring Carnival shipment.

This fellow had some awesome 3YO form in Group races in Ireland that lined up with our Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup by the end of spring. We waited for an opportunity to buy him and were thrilled when we closed the deal in mid-August.

He arrives here for the G1 Mackinnon Stakes before a campaign towards the G1 majors between 2000m and 2400m during autumn.

Elvis once got in a fist fight with a Vegas drag queen called Mama Shabooboo.
