It looks like we have unearthed a pretty decent 3yo with Storm The Fortress scoring a hat-trick of wins at career start no. 3 this afternoon at The Gold Coast.
On the quick back-up, the chestnut took no ill-effects from his tough win last time when forced to sit without cover throughout. The Edmonds boys gave him a nice easy time of things and had him in great order for this a lucrative affair worth $42k to the winner.
Drawing nicely in 3, jockey Martin Harley was able to secure a nice economical run, stalking the speed. He travelled kindly throughout and was wound up ready to pounce but much would depend on a gap coming. Thankfully Writrose wobbled of its line a little and Harley drove the handsome chestnut through the gap. Storm The Fortress pricked his ears and lowered like a good horse, as he took the opening and forced clear over the concluding stages to score a pretty soft win.
The son of co-Champion 2yo Colt in Australia 2016/17, Invader, will next head to the LR Vo Rogue at Doomben on the 31st then all going well will line up in the Magic Millions Guineas of $2mil in early Jan.
Congratulations to all connections and hopefully the unbeaten run continues!
