MASTER OF DESIGN x PARIS RETURN Filly
Master of Design was a terrific racehorse with his biggest achievement being the Group 1 T.J.Smith in Sydney, which boasts an honour roll like no other which includes such horses as Chautauqua, Lankan Ruppee, Mahogany, Takeover Target and of course the mighty mare Black Caviar on 2 occasions. He was a 2.1 Million dollar yearling at the famous Easter Yearling sales which tells you he is an outstanding individual.
This filly’s dam is called Paris Return who was a European import that was trained by Bart Cummings ,she was a dual winner as a 2 year old and trained on to win over 2000 meters, which shows her durability. I actually raced her half-sister called Fantome Gris who had great ability, she should of actually won the group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes at Flemington as a 3 year old filly, when running a very unlucky 4th beaten 1.85 lengths. Both foals to race from the mare Paris Return have been city winners and that’s all you can ask when trying to have a bit of fun on the track. This particular filly is by far the strongest yearling she has thrown which really attracted me to her and she is the best value yearling I have purchased all sales season in 2015.
The way this filly presented at the sale you would say she could be a 2 year old which could open the door to the big Magic Millions 3 Million dollar 2 year old race in January. Beyond that there is a 2 Million dollar Magic Millions Guineas as a 3 year old and the every year after that there is a 1 Million dollar race she could possibly race in. The race series certainly gives us a great incentive to purchase quality bloodstock because if you strike a good one, the prize money opportunities are endless…. She is my pick as our value buy for our 2015 team of yearlings and will be very popular.
She will be trained by Leon and Troy Corstens with 10% shares starting at $6,450 plus Gst which includes all your costs up until Sept 1st, Floating, sales vetting, Magic Millions race series, agistment, insurance to Nov 30th. 5% share’s also available.
Spicer Thoroughbreds charges no ongoing management fees, and provides owners an unprecedented level of communication and audio-video coverage to keep you informed of your horse’s progress.

Amovatio Wins VRC-CRV Winter Championship Series Final
/in Al Maher x Grand Ovation News, News, winners /by adminAmovatio (Al Maher/Grand Ovation):
He raced at Flemington this afternoon on a track rated a good 4 with Damien Oliver aboard. From the wide draw Damien sat quietly on him and managed to slot in, on the fence, with two horses behind him. The speed was very genuine which helped our horse as he was off the bridle and relaxed early. Damien rode a really patient race as he was conscious of how much weight he was giving to the majority of the other runners and wanted to conserve as much energy as possible. When Amovatio got up behind the wall of horses, halfway down the straight, he started to switch on, he took a gap and with 50 metres to go we thought he was going to run a nice place, but he dug deep just on the line to win by a nose. Damien said he was so tough and goes really well at Flemington and has pulled up well from the run. Well done to you all and as we said all along, through his consistent and often unlucky runs he deserves to win a good one which he did today. We will see how he is over the next couple of days before working out another race or spelling him.
Totolo Wins a 1100m at Bendigo

Well done and that was a very good win albeit in against a modest bunch of horses and D.Dunn never panicked he sat cool as a cucumber 3 wide before delivering the knockout punch in the straight.
Dwayne said he travelled well even though he elected to stay deep as the speed was too hot to his inside ,but he ran well through the line and there should be another win in him shortly if we place him right.
Leon said that everything worked today, the blinkers back on, the approach to race day for a bleeder and also the ride from Dunny when he didn’t panic because he couldn’t cross to the lead.
We will try and find a similar graded race in 2-3 weeks’ time and hopefully make it 2 in a row.
Enjoy this one guys as it was a long time coming …
Amovatio Wins At Flemington
/in Al Maher x Grand Ovation News, News, winners /by adminWell first, Congratulations to all the team Chris Waller, Justine Hales (Chris’s Foreperson) and Ollie who rode him 11/10 super ride!
Congratulations also to all of you as it certainly doesn’t get any better than a win at Flemington, regarded as the holy grail of racetracks, where it’s that little bit more special!
Ollie said he felt very switched on today, travelled a bit keen when the pace slackened but let down with a great turn of foot and will be one of the main chances in the final on July 11th over the mile.
As long as he pulls up well in the next few days then its full steam ahead to the final and hopefully enjoy another magic day like yesterday…
Word Of Mouth leaves them breathless
/in News, winners, Word of Mouth News /by adminI actually missed Patty Maloney’s post-race comments as we were all celebrating but will catch him tomorrow for a rundown on the race.
Enjoy the win and yes it was a big day as those mighty Bulldog’s did the right thing as well, have a great weekend…
Houdini Just Too Great
/in Houdini (Choisir x Joleur) News, News, winners /by adminWell congratulations to the whole team, we had a few reservations heading into the race with eating, but he was just too good for them today!
Chris Parnham rode him perfectly and looked to be in a little bit of trouble when they sprinted before the bend, but when he flattened out late he picked them up fairly easily in the last furlong.
Chris said he was easy on him over the last 50 yards as he had the race won and he should be able to go on with the job now.
Leon was thrilled as we were hoping we crossed our ‘T’s and dotted our ‘I’s to make sure he was 100% today and to see him race so genuine was very satisfying.
