Yearling filly, Tarzino x Wednesday Rocks

We welcome a filly by Tarzino from the Encosta De Lago mare Wednesday Rocks.

Here are some key reasons why we targeted this filly;

– The dam Wednesday Rocks is a proven producer of high class horses with a Stakes winner and Stakes placegetter already to her name. Her recent 3YO maiden winner will target the G1 NZ Oaks this year and will have her next start in the G2 Sir Tristram Classic. We might be in for a big pedigree upgrade in the next month with any luck!

– Physically she has power to compliment her scope and she looks like a classic filly that could go between 1600-2400m. I am sure she is going to furnish into the style of filly that will be able to physically hold her own with the very best stakes horses of her generation.

– Her broodmare sire is Encosta De Lago, one of the best and producers of high class horses every season. There is so much in her pedigree to back up her impressive physique.

While in New Zealand for a recent family holiday I visited Tarzino at stud and the horse is the physical reincarnation of the great Zabeel. Our filly was the first Tarzino yearling ever sold and on what I’ve seen of the yearlings so far, they will be very popular; we actually beat Tarzino‘s trainer Mick Price to secure this filly.

We have secured a quality filly here, she’s just so classy.

Yearling filly, Written Tycoon x Factor of Safety

We welcome a Written Tycoon filly from the Encosta De Lago mare Factor Of Safety.

This filly was a key target filly for us on Day 2. She is by one of the best and most consistent sires in Australia, Written Tycoon, who just yesterday had a filly sell for $1.5million; he gets fast young horses year in year out. She was the top pick of vendor Woodside Park and I had to agree after inspecting their draft.

I loved this filly as a type, she’s a big powerful unit with presence and strength and great natural muscle tone. She could be an early type but there’s real substance there to say she will mature and keep improving. Encosta De Lago is a fabulous broodmare sire and generally speaking his progeny continue to improve with age.

I was prepared to bid up to $300,000 – $325,000 for our filly so I was thrilled to get her at the price we did.

She will be trained by Lindsey Smith at Warrnambool and hopefully she’s a filly that we can steer towards the $2million 2yo Magic Millions Classic race next year.

Yearling colt, No Nay Never x Amish

We welcome a powerful No Nay Never colt from the Canny Lad mare Amish.

Our colt is a stunning animal by one of the world’s most exciting sires and we have been very lucky to have had him stand in Australia for the last few seasons. He was crowned Champion First Season Sire in Europe with a phenomenal 19 stakes winners including G1 winning powerhouse Ten Sovereigns –  his service fee has quadrupled.

What we’ve done here is secure a great value colt that – to get him for the price we did was a real bonus. His dam has already produced two Group winners and there is plenty happening in the family with G3 winner Gamay emerging as one of the best classic fillies in Australia.

Coolmore see the potential in the colt and have stayed on in partnership with us which is a great vote of confidence; we hope that you see the potential in this colt as well.

Lindsey Smith will train the horse and also loved the colt as a type.
