Windy goes woosh

New Zealand import Our Wind Spirit (4yo g Per Incanto x Timpin) made it a perfect three wins from three starts in Australia when he stormed to victory first-up at Ballarat on Thursday to take the Hygain Winner’s Choice BM64 over 1000m.

It was a terrific reward for our owners who have been very patient with this horse; following two wins in his first preparation Our Wind Spirit felt the firm summer tracks while in training earlier this year with trainer Lindsey Smith electing to ease off and wait for more give in the ground.

Our Wind Spirit has thrived in his work this time around and is set for a big campaign.

“Michael Rodd said after the race that the horse is still raw and learning, so we’re in for a really good campaign by the looks of things,” said Brad Spicer.

Keep a close eye on Our Wind Spirit, he’s definitely a horse to follow this winter.
