Baroota wins a 1200m at Kembla Grange
Baroota (NZ) (Showcasing (GB)/Centree (NZ)):
He raced yesterday at Kembla Grange where he was having his debut run and recorded a strong win in a small field. He paraded relaxed and from barrier 2 he began well with Hugh Bowman easing behind the other two runners where he travelled comfortably to the 600m mark. He worked his way up 3 wide turning into the straight stalking the leader and when asked for an effort he shot clear with ease, racing a little green but clearly it was a dominant performance. Hugh was very happy with the run saying he was green once he hit the front but gave him a good feel. He did get a soft win yesterday and ideally we would be running again in 3 weeks, therefore he will instead race in 4 weeks on March 2nd over 1400m. I will give him a solid trial between races so that he learns to attack the line. Following on from his next start is a suitable 1600m race on March 9th, again at Warwick Farm.
