Yearling colt, Flying Artie x Twelve Pack Shelley

We welcome to our team a colt that we hope could be on his way to the $2million Magic Millions 2YO Classic in 2021.

By the outstanding 2YO and 3YO Group 1 winner Flying Artie, from the American bred and raced speed ball Twelve Pack Shelley, this colt is already a half-brother to the proven stakes winner and 2Yo sprinter Kentucky Miss. This is a family with serious 2YO speed and that coupled with the colt’s power and natural muscle put him at the top of our list for a group of Queensland based owners keen to chase big money on the Gold Coast in January.

The colt will be prepared by Toby Edmonds and we race in partnership with some very smart bloodstock minds who have achieved significant 2YO success in the past.

We can’t wait to see what this fellow can do – he ticks all the boxes for a fast, early type.

Yearling filly, Written Tycoon x Invested Capital

This filly by leading sire Written Tycoon is built for speed and comes from a very deep female family with Group winners in Australia and Europe right through her dam side.

We bought this filly prior direct from the breeder Woodside Park in the knowledge that the first foal of the dam, a colt by Zoustar, is already safely in our ownership and showing a stack of ability. We think he is Group class and when he steps out at the races the value of this filly could go through the roof.

Written Tycoon leaves fast fillies and mares – it’s a fact. Oakleigh Plate winners Pippe and Booker, Luna Rossa and Tycoon Tara were all Group 1 winners by the stallion while Super Cash was a multiple Group 2 winner and a G1 Stradbroke runner-up.

Broodmare sire Zamindar was a brilliant stakes winning 2YO in Europe and is the sire of brilliant unbeaten French filly Zarkava, international G1 performer Darjina, and G1 winner Timepiece amongst a host of Group 1 and stakes winners.

A body built for speed from a family built to run – this is a filly made for those that like the fast things in life!

Yearling filly, Capitalist x Relargo

Here is a beautiful filly by former Champion 2YO colt Capitalist, an exceptional young sprinter and one of the best 2YO’s of the modern era, from a young Encosta De Lago mare that we have the inside running on.

Brad purchased this filly for existing owners out of the paddock after she passed in at the Inglis Classic Sale in February. He was impressed by her physique and her attitude and she has a great walk on her. Importantly, she is the second foal of a young mare from a blue blood family – Relargo hails from the direct family of Fastnet Rock and it is a very strong pedigree full of black type and Group 1 form.

We own the older 3/4 sister by Written Tycoon called “The Cure” and we know she is a very smart young racehorse. She will be set for Group and Listed races in the spring in 2020 and could add serious residual value to this Capitalist filly.

There is big upside with this filly, race and then realise her value off the track.

Yearling filly, Choisir x Classy Fashion

We welcome a filly by Choisir from Classy Fashion, a daughter of the great Elegant Fashion. Brad has had plenty of success buying progeny of Choisir and this filly reminded him of our stakes placed Choisir filly Snapdancer – she’s got the same class about her. She’s a sharp sort of filly with enough substance […]

Yearling filly, Deep Field x Summit Breath

We welcome a stunning filly by Deep Field from the winning Snitzel mare Summit Breath. This filly has a very sharp look about her as well as a calm demeanour, that immediately had me thinking “two-year old races” and the dream of her returning to the Gold Coast in January 2021 for the $2million 2YO Classic.

Yearling colt, Redoute’s Choice x Tango

We welcome a powerfully built son of Redoute’s Choice from the Starcraft mare Tango, a dam from a long line of stakes winners. In short, this colt has a stallion’s pedigree if he can win the right races for us. The Australian breeding industry sadly lost the great Redoute’s Choice in 2019 and his son’s will […]

Yearling colt, Hinchinbrook x Rebel Sister

We welcome a powerhouse colt by Hinchinbrook from the mare Rebel Sister, a half sister to G1 star Black Heart Bart.

We rated this colt as one of our very best on our shortlist and one of the lots of the sale, and after some negotiations we beat a number of other buyers to the punch and landed him with breeder Gerry Harvey to stay on in partnership with us, such is his confidence in the colt.

Not much needs to be said about Hinchinbrook, he has been an outstanding sire of G1 winners and major Group performers and was a massive loss to the Australian racing industry when he died. Our colt is from his very last crop.

The colt is a close relation to multiple G1 winner and WFA star Black Heart Bart, his dam is a half sister that has already produced two multiple stakes winners, one stakes placegetter and two other winners from six foals to race – Hinchinbrook is a big upgrade for her, he is clearly the best stallion she has visited and we have huge confidence that the mating will deliver another serious horse.

Our colt will be trained on the beach at Warrnambool by Lindsey Smith from the same stable that Black Heart Bart was trained from for his six G1 wins. I am sure we can keep this great story continuing for many years to come as we continue to add to this proven pedigree.

Yearling filly, Rich Enuff x Drivel

We welcome a filly by Rich Enuff from the Encosta De Lago mare Drivel.

We had the inside running on this filly to a degree as we own her three-quarter brother Extrapolate, a horse we expect to be Saturday metropolitan class after a very good debut on a wet track which he didn’t handle. This filly is a tough, no fuss sort with a great shoulder.

I took our trainer Lindsey Smith to see her before she entered the auction ring and he was blunt in his assessment “Just buy her mate, she’s my sort of horse. A ripper,” he nearly fell of his chair when she was knocked down to us for $60,000!

The dam Drivel is sadly no longer with us so this filly is the second last of her progeny. That means our girl will always have residual value as a member of this strong family.
